There are people who book us way ahead of time and ask us to suggest where to stay and others who stay in hotels they're not particularly happy with and ask us to suggest where to stay the next time they visit Rome.

Everyone seems to be very happy with the restaurants we stop and have lunch at during our tours and inevitably the ask us to suggest a restaurant for dinner.

Cruisers ask us to recommend someone who gives tours out of other Mediterranean ports and though for what concerns the port of Civitavecchia and tours of Rome, Tuscia, the Roman Castles, Ostia Antica etcetera we can do ourselves, for the rest of Italy we can arrange their land excursions with our local partners in the ports of  Livorno or La Spezia to visit Florence and Tuscany;  in the ports of Naples or Salerno to tour the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. We don't have a direct partnerships outside of Italy though, so all we can do is provide the contact information to book their shore excursion with people who we know do a good job.

We listing on this page our favored hotels and restaurants in Italy and the info for guides, driving guides and drivers who operate outside of Italy. We'll also be adding any other information we think might be useful for tourists and even if you'll not become our client you may want to check out this page from time to time.

The garden of the restaurant "Sora Rosa"

Ristorante "Palazzaccio"

V. E.Q. Visconti, 66 - Roma
Tel. 06 3219238 - Cell 338.3994481

Typical old fashioned Roman neighborhood restaurant located between the new and the old court houses of Rome, and consequently frequented mostly by lawyers and judges, it's also a good stop for tourists on their way to or from the Vatican. The owner speaks impeccable English and serves impeccable Roman specialties!

Restaurant "Palazzaccio"

Sor'Eva - Piazza della Rovere 108, Roma
Tel. 06.6875797

Sor'Eva is the typical Roman "Trattoria", loud, chaotic and intricate, but fun and run by charming people who yell their orders to the chefs in the kitchen like it's always been customary to do in such places.

Frequented mainly by locals, a lot lot of whom eat there everyday, and priests from the nearby North American College. Tourists are almost a rarity here.

Restaurant "Sor'Eva"

Cafeteria "Circo Massimo"

Viale Aventino, 14, Roma
Tel. 0657305412

A nice sidewalk cafeteria not far from the Colosseum with good food at a reasonable price. Ideal for a lunch break before or after visiting the ruins and continuing to sightsee around Rome.

Frequented mainly by locals, F.A.O. employees and tourists. Good salads.

Caferteria "Circo Massimo"

Trattoria "der Pallaro"

Largo der Pallaro 13, Roma
Tel. 06 68801488

Still working the old fashioned way: you sit down and they serve you what they have prepared for the day, which usually is a lot more food than a human can eat! They bring you your wine, water or sodas and the bill is fixed: 25.00 Euros per person!

Paola, cook and owner, loves Americans and treats them with special care.

Trattoria "Der Pallaro"

Osteria "da Franca"

Via Appia Antica 28, Roma
Tel. 06 5136792

Very simple and old fashioned. Franca is not really young anymore and she still cooks like she's everyone's mom sticking to the tradition: gnocchi on Thursdays, baccalà on Fridays and son on.

No sign outside, only an old wine barrel hanging outside above of the door. Only open for lunch Monday through Friday. No credit cards!
